Morag Sutherland, who started Gelert Behaviour Training in 2003 is a qualified and listed Veterinary Nurse who began running “puppy parties” in veterinary practice in 1994. This lead to reading around the subject of dog behaviour and a great wish to improve a dogs experience of veterinary treatment.
This interest then spread to looking at day to day life from a dog’s perspective, training with COAPE to run puppy classes to the benefit of puppies and their owners and currently studying for a Post Graduate Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling at Southampton University.
As well as Glas, a working sheepdog and Dolly an Italian Greyhound, Morag is training four cows to be handled without the physical restraints usually applied to farm livestock. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Veterinary Nurse Liaison Officer for the Companion Animal Behaviour Therapy Study Group and a student member of the UK Register of Canine Behaviourists.
